Dear 3A pupils,
Some of you might still be confused on what to do first for the assessment. As such, I'll be breaking down the instructions into smaller parts for your easy comprehension:
1) Plan and draft your classification diagram in your Nature Study Book. I understand that you've handed in your book after spelling on Friday, 24 January. I'll return your books tomorrow, 28 January (Tuesday) so you can transfer your draft to the blank side of your Nature Study Book. When you plan, do take note that the items must be inexpensive and easy to collect.
Deadline: 29 January (Wednesday). For those of you who really need more time to plan or you're overseas right now, the latest I can accept your draft is 4 February (Tuesday).
2) Wait for my "OK" stamp. This indicates that your draft is fine and you can then start to collect and do up your classification chart. You can work on your classification diagram in various ways, such as using vanguard, cardboard, shoebox and so on. I think the short trip to the science lab should have given you many ideas on that (:
3) Once you have completed your classification chart, bring it to school and present your work to your classmates during Science lesson.
Step 3 will be spread out over week 5 to week 7 of Term 1.

ReplyDeleteJust to feedback that I understand the charts need to be submitted tomorrow, however the nature study exercise book wasn't return to us so I felt it is very difficult for us to complete and submit the project as it felt handicapped without the nature study book.

The latest date for the pupils to submit their classification chart is next Friday,21/2, not today, 14/2.
I did not collect the Nature Study Book from the pupils last Friday (7/2), after their spelling so that pupils have the weekend to finalise their plan or to do up their chart. The pupils are also informed that so long they have finished up their plan, they are to submit to me as soon as poasible and not to wait till Wednesday or Friday. Again, the same reason follows, so I can return to them immediately when I see them, and not to collect.
To give the children more time, I will return their book next Mon too. Hope this clarifies. Do feel free to email me at yeo_eunice@moe.edu.sg should you have further queries.
